Nowadays there isn’t any major city in Europe without inner districts restricted for car use, that is visited specifically for the sake of walking. City dwellers could be motivated to walk by several architectural solutions. Designing pedestrian zones and pedestrian streets, developing the public spaces and parks, or the enhancement of public safety with architectural solutions are having a great impact on the livability and on the ability to attract people or services in a specific district. Creating the favorable conditions could motivate city dwellers ‘green-mobility’.
